When I first had my daughter I didn’t think that I possibly could love her any more than I already did. She was so tiny, so perfect, and had such an angelic little face; which did an excellent job of masking her fiery personality. Right from the get go she knew exactly what she wanted and she made sure that everyone else knew too! As she grew up I kept reassessing my idea of the perfect age. I have come to realize that they are all perfect. There are so many new and exciting firsts that happen at every age! It seems like she is learning something new every day. I love how she is talking more and how she claims “dog bump” when she falls down and the dog is nowhere to be seen. I love that after a screaming fit while the doctor tried to look in her ears (while three of us were unsuccessfully attempting to hold her still) she clapped and said “happy” when they were finished only to start her fit up again when she realized that they were going to check out the other ear too! But most of all I love that I am able to catch so many moments but ordinary and extraordinary on my camera. Little ones grow up so fast and I feel that it is so important to be able to catch and hold onto those precious moments in a photograph. Looking back at pictures I have taken just months ago I can’t believe how much my little bee has grown! She definitely isn’t an easy subject to photograph. She knows what is going on a soon as she sees my camera and she really makes me work for it, but in the end it is so worth it. And most of all I am glad that I can take 5 photos a second because she can go from this …

to this in the blink of an eye!
