Toddlers… gotta love ‘em

Friday, April 30th, 2010

When I first had my daughter I didn’t think that I possibly could love her any more than I already did. She was so tiny, so perfect, and had such an angelic little face; which did an excellent job of masking her fiery personality. Right from the get go she knew exactly what she wanted and she made sure that everyone else knew too! As she grew up I kept reassessing my idea of the perfect age. I have come to realize that they are all perfect. There are so many new and exciting firsts that happen at every age! It seems like she is learning something new every day. I love how she is talking more and how she claims “dog bump” when she falls down and the dog is nowhere to be seen. I love that after a screaming fit while the doctor tried to look in her ears (while three of us were unsuccessfully attempting to hold her still) she clapped and said “happy” when they were finished only to start her fit up again when she realized that they were going to check out the other ear too! But most of all I love that I am able to catch so many moments but ordinary and extraordinary on my camera. Little ones grow up so fast and I feel that it is so important to be able to catch and hold onto those precious moments in a photograph. Looking back at pictures I have taken just months ago I can’t believe how much my little bee has grown! She definitely isn’t an easy subject to photograph. She knows what is going on a soon as she sees my camera and she really makes me work for it, but in the end it is so worth it. And most of all I am glad that I can take 5 photos a second because she can go from this …

Peyton – Cute as can be!

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

I can’t believe how much this little sweetheart has grown up. She has changed from a sweet little baby into a gorgeous little girl. I absolutely love her big green-blue eyes and how her hair curls at the back. She is exactly one week younger than my little one and it is always fun when we are able to get the girls together and see how much they have grown. Peyton is so friendly and easy going and she was an absolute pleasure to photograph. We were so lucky that the rain and wind held off for our photo shoot.

Richmond Wedding Photographer – Melissa & Adam

Sunday, April 25th, 2010

Here are some photos from a beautiful wedding I shot in March. I’ve gotten a bit behind on my blogging, but I have to share some of my favourite photos. Melissa and Adam did a wonderful job planning their wedding and I have to say that their wedding was the first wedding I have been to where everything was exactly on schedule! We even had a bit of extra time to sneak away for some couple photos at a little dock near the venue. Melissa looked stunning! I was so lucky to photograph such an incredibly photogenic couple! Congratulations Melissa and Adam!
